How does it work?
Despite its humble looks, a small affordable portable oxygen is an intricate machine. Here’s the tech magic behind its work:
- Drawing air. A portable oxygen concentrator absorbs air from the room.
- Compressing. After that, it compresses air reducing nitrogen levels from 80% to just 10%. At the same time, oxygen level is increased from 20% to 90%. It’s partly possible thanks to the Zeolite mineral.
- Delivery. Depending on the mode, the O2 concentrator will deliver the purified oxygen either as a continuous flow or pulse dose through the nasal cannula or tubes.
- Restart. And then, the whole cycle begins anew to deliver a fresh potion of the highly oxygenated air.
- Continuous flow. This is a nighttime mode. Oxygen is delivered through a simple tube system without a pause. The recipient doesn’t need to control anything first-hand. So, it’s an ideal mode to support the nocturnal rest.
- Pulse dose. This mode works better while you’re awake. The air is delivered dose by dose as you take another breath through the cannula.
